The resolution of the love triangle, or rather the shifting of romantic interests, is handled with maturity. Aelin realizes that she has outgrown her past loves. A Queen of Shadows pdf depicts this emotional growth honestly. It is a lesson in letting go of what no longer serves you. It validates the idea that people change and that is okay. Relationships end, but life goes on. It is a healthy message in a genre often obsessed with "first loves."
